It wasn’t until the end of Emily’s senior year of high school that she decided to make college a priority. She was leaning toward a full-time job immediately after high school, but after talking with her parents, she changed her mind. Emily realized that not having a degree had resulted in missed opportunities for some of her own family members. She decided college would help her advance in a career of her choosing.
“Throughout high school, I was tossing around the idea of not attending college and going straight into the workforce. That changed when I started to realize the benefits that a college education could give me. I could not only study things that I have a passion for, but I am also going to be able to have a lifelong career that I will love, and that will allow me to live a comfortable lifestyle.”
