It's time to file your FAFSA!

Prepare

The following steps can be completed now to help you prepare to file your FAFSA:

  1. Visit StudentAid.gov to create your FSA ID*
  2. Review the FAFSA Checklist and collect the information you need
  3. Determine who is considered your contributor/parent

*You must have an FSA ID to complete your FAFSA.  

File

When the FAFSA application opens, you should:

  • File online at fafsa.gov as soon as possible
  • File before April 1, 2024 to be considered for the Missouri Access Grant Program (with priority given to those who file before Feb. 1)
  • Check with the college / university you plan to attend, as they may have their own FAFSA deadlines

Once your FAFSA has been processed, you will get a FAFSA Submission Summary. This summary will include your Student Aid Index and basic information about your eligibility for financial aid. You should:

  • Review this summary to make sure all information is correct
  • Send any corrections or submit any items to verify information (if requested) as soon as possible
